Product Description
Kemadrin (Procyclidine) is used for the symptomatic treatment of Parkinson's disease. It reduces tremor and stiffness of muscles. Procyclidine, its active ingredient, is an anticholinergic, it works by blocking acetylcholine. This helps to reduce muscular stiffness, sweating and saliva production, and also helps improve the ability to walk in people with Parkinson's disease. Anticholinergics can stop muscle and eye spasms.
Safety information
Kemadrin should be taken orally without chewing, just swallowed with water at any time of the day, regardless of the food intake.
During the treatment of Parkinson's disease, the recommended initial dose of Procyclidine is 2.5 mg three times a day. It can be increased by your healthcare provider until the symptoms disappear completely. The maximum daily dose is 30 mg. Only your doctor can increase it to 60 mg.
In case of the treatment of an uncontrolled jerking caused by taking other medications, the recommended dose on a start is 2.5 mg of Procyclidine three times a day. It can be increased until the symptoms disappear completely. The maximum daily dose is 20 mg. If the symptoms do not disappear or are back, the intake of Kemadrin should be stopped.
It is not recommended to appoint Kemadrin to children, if one is appointed to get treatment with Kemadrin he/she should get an additional consultation from a doctor.
Since this drug can cause blurred vision, it is necessary to avoid the management of vehicles or industrial equipment during the drug intake.
Do not use Kemadrin if you are allergic to any of the components of this remedy. Kemadrin is also contraindicated to patients with closed-angle glaucoma.
The risk from an intake of Kemadrine during pregnancy has not been investigated. However, when prescribing the drug, pregnant women were not found to have a negative effect. When prescribing Kemadrin to pregnant women, the expected positive effect should outweigh the possible risk.
Side effects
