Casodex Product Description
Drug Uses
Casodex is a nonsteroidal anti-cancer drug that provides antiandrogen activity. Casodex tablets are used for oral therapy of metastatic carcinoma of the prostate (advanced prostate cancer) and are not effective in the treatment of other types of cancer.
To inhibit a growth of tumor cells and shrink tumors in advanced prostate cancer, Casodex tablets should be used in combination with anticancer agents of the group of LHRH analogues. In addition, Casodex can be prescribed for regression of metastatic prostate cancer (Stage D2) after surgical castration.
In order to slow down the growth and division of cancer cells in the prostate gland, Casodex tablets should be taken regularly once a day. Increase in the frequency of Casodex use does not provide extra benefits while treating prostate cancer.
Missed Dose
If you forget to take Casodex pills at the scheduled time, take the next dose of this antiandrogen agent as prescribed. However, do not take two doses of Casodex to make up the missed dose of this anticancer drug.

Therefore, Casodex therapy should be started a few days before the first use of an implant or injection of LHRH analogue.
